The 2027 Volvo EX60 gets quoted on range and charging speed. Those numbers matter, but they are not what you notice on a Tuesday commute in Quebec. This guide covers the details that shape daily ownership: the cabin, the safety systems, the cold-weather hardware and the choices to settle before you order.
Here is what is confirmed on this five-seat electric SUV.
The EX60 is the first Volvo built on the SPA3 architecture, and it runs on an 800-volt electrical system. The P10 AWD Electric powertrain drives all four wheels and carries a rating of up to 531 km on 20 or 21-inch wheels. On 22-inch wheels it is up to 502 km, so your wheel choice moves the range number.
The P12 AWD Electric variant is rated at up to 640 km. A drag coefficient of 0.26 helps both versions, thanks to a low front end, a sloping roofline and tapered body sides.
Charging is where the 800-volt system pays off. The P10 AWD accepts DC fast charging at up to 400 kW and can add up to 265 km of range in 10 minutes. It is also the first Volvo with a native NACS port, giving adapter-free access to more than 29,000 Tesla Supercharger stations across the United States and Canada.
Plug & Charge is listed on both trims, so a compatible station can start the session without a card or app tap.
At home, a 22 kW on-board charger and bi-directional Vehicle to Load charging are listed on both trims. That means the car can power outside equipment as well as take a charge.
Because the EX60 is electric-only, the long wheelbase and flat floor free up rear legroom and make room for a large luggage compartment. Both trims list a tailored textile dashboard and soundbar. Weathered grey ash wood and charcoal headlining finish the look.
Small storage details carry real weight over a year of driving. You get door panel storage, a central floor console, phone storage front and rear, sliding 2+1 front cupholders and a rear centre armrest with its own cupholders.
The screens are straightforward. An 11.4-inch driver display sits ahead of the wheel, and a 15-inch landscape centre display handles navigation and media. Google Gemini, Google Maps and the Google Play Store are built in, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are listed on both trims.
Gemini lets you talk to the car in natural sentences without memorizing commands. Over-the-air updates are standard, so the software improves after delivery. The Volvo Cars app adds remote control from your phone.
Both trims are shown with the P10 AWD Electric powertrain, so the decision is about equipment, not drivetrain. The differences are in the places you touch and hear every day.

The Ultra is the one for drivers who want the better audio and leather, and for anyone who drives dark rural roads often enough to value the pixel headlights and washers. The launch audio system pairs Bowers & Wilkins with 28 speakers, including headrest speakers in all four main seats, and Apple Music with Dolby Atmos is pre-installed.
The Plus already carries the core of the EX60 experience. It includes heated front and rear seats, the same driver-assistance list, the full charging hardware and the Google-based infotainment. For many buyers it is the right place to start, and ventilation and the electrochromic roof can still be added.
The multi-adaptive safety belt is standard on the EX60. It uses interior and exterior sensor data to adjust belt load to the occupant’s height, weight, body shape and seating position, and it improves through over-the-air updates. A larger occupant in a serious crash receives a higher belt load setting, and a smaller occupant in a milder crash receives a lower one. The safety cage is strengthened with boron steel.
The active systems are broad. Driver Understanding, occupant sensing and Advanced Sensing Technology feed a long list of assists:
Quebec buyers should read the climate list closely, since winter is the next season on the calendar. Frameless heated door mirrors, wiper blades with integrated heating, a heated steering wheel and heated front and rear seats are all listed. A heat pump and a high voltage air heater handle cabin warmth.
Remote interior pre-conditioning lets you warm or cool the cabin before you walk out. An air purifier with remote cabin pre-cleaning and a three-zone climate system round it out. Both trims list all of these.
For cargo, the EX60 has a power tailgate, a 60/40 split load floor, roof rack fixing points, a retractable load cover and a front load compartment, the frunk. The folding three-split rear seat has a one-touch fold, which helps when the groceries and the skis share a trip.
Canadian order books are open, so the useful work now is deciding your build. Think through these points in order:
The EX60 does not ask you to trade comfort for range. The cabin is calm, the multi-adaptive front safety belts adapt to each front occupant and the cold-weather equipment is already on the list.
The EX60 is a five-seat electric SUV with up to 531 km of range in P10 AWD form, 400 kW fast charging, a native NACS port and a multi-adaptive front safety belt that adapts to each front occupant. The Plus and Ultra trims split on audio, upholstery, lighting and roof choices.
